How to Deep Trip on Psilocybin 🍄

TLDR: As someone who has experienced the profound effects of psilocybin mushrooms many times, and in response to popular demand following my previous post on Healing & Growth with Psilocybin, I wanted to share my step-by-step guide on how to have a safe and transformative deep trip. First, you’ll need to source or grow your psilocybin mushrooms and prepare them for consumption by grinding them into a powder and mixing them with a liquid. Next, find a comfortable place to lie down or sit, set your intentions, and let go as the psilocybin takes effect. Once the trip is over, it’s important to ground yourself by eating and drinking something light and engaging in activities that bring you joy and peace. Remember to approach psilocybin with caution and respect, as it can be a potent substance that requires responsible use. With the right preparation and mindset, a psilocybin trip can be a transformative and life-changing experience.

Psilocybin mushrooms have been a part of my life for years, providing me with a path towards self-discovery, personal growth, and relief from depression. As someone who has taken many “deep dives,” I’ve learned how to safely and effectively experience the transformative power of psilocybin. In this post, I’m excited to share my step-by-step guide to achieving a deep trip on psilocybin, so that you too can navigate your mind, connect with something greater, and better understand your true self.

Step 1: Source or Grow Your Own Your Psilocybin Mushrooms

Psilocybin mushrooms are a type of fungi that contain psychoactive compounds, including psilocybin and psilocin, which can produce profound and life-changing experiences. Some of the most common “magic” mushrooms include Psilocybe cubensis, Psilocybe semilanceata, and Psilocybe cyanescens.

When it comes to sourcing your own psilocybin mushrooms, you have two options: purchasing from a reliable and trusted source or growing them yourself. It’s important to note that buying mushrooms from an unknown source can be dangerous, as it can be challenging to determine the quality and potency of the mushrooms.

If you decide to grow your own mushrooms, you’ll need to obtain spores or a grow kit from a reputable supplier. Growing your own mushrooms can be a rewarding and educational experience, but it does require some research and effort to ensure that the process is safe and effective. There are various methods for growing psilocybin mushrooms, including the PF Tek and monotub techniques.

The PF Tek method involves mixing the spores with a nutrient-rich substrate, such as brown rice flour or vermiculite, and allowing the mycelium to grow before transferring it to a fruiting chamber. The monotub method involves growing the mycelium in a single container and then introducing fresh air and light to promote mushroom growth.

Regardless of which method you choose, it’s important to follow proper hygiene practices and sterilization techniques to prevent contamination and ensure a successful harvest.

With the mushrooms sourced or grown, it’s time to move on to the next step in the process of deep tripping on psilocybin.

Step 2: Prepare and Consume the Psilocybin Mushrooms

Once you have sourced or grown your psilocybin mushrooms, it’s time to prepare them for consumption. There are different ways to consume the mushrooms, including eating them as is (dry) or mixing them with other foods. Personally, I prefer to grind them up into a powder using a coffee grinder or a mortar and pestle, and then mix the powder into a hot cup of vegetable broth.

Next, mix the powdered mushrooms with warm broth. I prefer to use vegetable broth, but you can use any type of broth you like. This helps to mask the taste of the mushrooms and also makes them easier to consume. Make sure to consume it all at once, as this will help to ensure a more even and consistent trip.

It’s important to note that the amount of mushrooms you consume will determine the intensity of your trip. A standard dose for a beginner is around 1-2 grams of dried mushrooms, while a deep trip usually requires 3 grams or more. Anything over 5 grams is considered a heroic dose, which was coined by Terence McKenna and involves consuming 5 grams of dry mushrooms (Psilocybe Cubensis) in a specific kind of set and setting. Keep in mind that the effects of a heroic dose can last up to 6-8 hours, so it’s important to be prepared and have a comfortable and safe environment to trip in.

Step 3: Get Comfortable, Set Your Intentions, and Let Go

Once you’ve consumed the psilocybin, find a comfortable place to lie down or sit. It’s important to set your intentions for the trip before it begins. This can help to guide the experience and make it more meaningful.

To fully immerse yourself in the experience, put on an eye mask and headphones. I recommend listening to a specially curated psilocybin playlist, such as the one created by John Hopkins University.

As you wait for the psilocybin to take effect, you can meditate or practice breath work. This can help to calm your mind and body and make the experience more enjoyable.

Once the psilocybin starts to take effect, let go and have the experience. Don’t try to control it or fight it. Surrender to the journey and see where it takes you. Remember, the effects can last up to 6-8 hours, so be prepared and have a safe and comfortable environment to trip in. Enjoy the journey and the insights it may bring.

Step 4: Bring Yourself Back to Reality

After the trip is over, it’s important to ground yourself and bring yourself back to reality. While some people may feel rejuvenated and ready to take on the world, others may feel drained and in need of some extra care.

One way to bring yourself back to reality is to eat and drink something. This can help to provide your body with the necessary nutrients and energy to come down from the trip. Avoid heavy, greasy foods and opt for something light and easy to digest, like a fruit smoothie or a simple vegetable soup.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed and want to end the trip early, there are a few things you can try. Taking a cold shower can help to bring you back to your senses and reduce the intensity of the trip. If that doesn’t work, vomiting can be an effective way to end the trip early. However, keep in mind that vomiting can be dangerous and should only be used as a last resort.

It’s also important to take care of your mind and body after the trip. Try to get some rest and relaxation, and engage in activities that bring you joy and peace. Consider journaling about your experience to gain insight and perspective, and talk to a trusted friend or therapist if you need to process your thoughts and feelings. With the right preparation, mindset, and aftercare, a psilocybin trip can be a transformative and life-changing experience.

In conclusion, deep tripping on psilocybin can be transformative, improving mental health, self-awareness, and physical well-being. It’s essential to approach psilocybin with caution, as it requires responsible use. By following the steps outlined in this guide and seeking guidance from a medical professional or experienced guide, you can have a safe and positive trip that opens your mind to new possibilities.

My personal experience with psilocybin has been incredibly transformative, but it’s important to remember that everyone’s experience is unique. Whether seeking healing, personal growth, or a deeper understanding of oneself and the world, psilocybin has the potential to offer profound insights and meaningful change. Remember to approach it with respect, intention, and openness to the experience. Safe travels, and happy tripping!
